2-1.        JOHN2 CLAYSON (WILLIAM1) born 1765 in Elham, Kent, and died 05 Apr 1838 in Elham, Kent, age 69 years, labourer, cause of death apoplexy, informant the mark x of Martha Clayson widow Elham.  He married MARTHA ROUSELL (ROWSALL) 21 Nov 1785 (Licence granted 15 Oct 1785 in Elham, Kent Canterbury Marriage Licences, 1781-1809 Volume 32) daughter of JAMES ROUSELL. She was bapt. 20 April 1766, in Ham, near Eastry, Kent and died 24 Oct 1843, age 81, burial 29 Oct 1843 in Elham, Kent.  Parents of Martha ROUSELL, James ROUSELL and Mary SPRATT, married 6July 1765, Lower Hardres near Canterbury. (awaiting verification).  Possible; Mary SPRATT, bapt. 23 Dec 1744, Hothfield, Kent.  Parents of MARYSPRATT: John SPRATT and Mildred PREBELL, married 27 Dec 1743,Dover. (unverified)

                Died 1957 Dundee. Chief Petty Officer in the Navy 1940's, served in WW I and WW II. Arthur Clayson was at Gallipoli beach with the cruiser

                Euralaus.

7-3.         WILLIAM (Bill) CHRISTIE7  CLAYSON b. July 1937, London.  Married Iris McKenzie Manson in 1979.  Iris was born in 1951 Dundee. NB After leaving

                 the Navy, Bill worked in shipbuilding as a senior electrical supervisor. When the UK Government closed the shipyards, he went to work with Wood Group

                 Industrial Controls Ltd. as a Quality Assurance Manager.  He then went on to automated assembly machine design and  programming.  Bill retired in

                 2003.
